What to do About Bed Strains

by Stephan Thomlinson

Sure your bed may be very comfortable now, but what about next year or even next month. When your good bed gets strained out, it will no longer be as comfortable to sleep on and as a result you will slowly feel more tired in the mornings when you wake up. Getting a good sleep allows your body to heal itself and the more comfortable you are, the less time this healing process takes.

Bent and broken bed frames!

Your bed is most likely composed of a frame, a head and footboard set as well as a box spring and mattress. These frames can and often do become bent and when this happens, the bed no longer sits right and this can affect your ability to sleep.

Springs will bend and break!

Bed springs are nothing more then coiled wire and over time as you bend them they become weaker and less able to support you until they finally break; and they will eventually break.

Rips in the quilting can be annoying.

Your bed has a fabric cover which separates you from the padding and springs that make up its interior. When this fabric eventually rips, it will expose you to the sharp metal springs and also give critters a great place to call home.

Stress and beds!

We spend more then a third of our lives sleeping. This sleep is important to our bodies and minds. However if your bed has lost its ability to be comfortable, you will loose quality sleep. This can result in you having some very bad days due to fatigue and stress caused by the lack of sleep.

Bed maintenance is a must!

Not only should you be replacing your bedding weekly, but every 6 months or so you need to sanitize the mattress and keep it clean. If you do not, then the bed will not last as long and you will either have to replace it sooner, or deal with the consequences of a bad night’s rest.

Don’t let your bed strain you out. You need your sleep and the more comfortable you are, the better that sleep is. A person can sleep 6 hours on a very comfortable bed and awake feeling more energized then someone who slept for 8 hours on a worn down and uncomfortable bed. Since sleeping is such a big part of your day, it only makes sense that you get a comfortable bed.

Cheap Mattress Comfort and a Better Night’s Rest

by Stephan Thomlinson

You just cannot overemphasize the important of a good night’s rest no matter how you choose to look at it. People spend a third of their life sleeping in order to recharge their body and when you are not comfortable at night, you body cannot fully recharge leaving you feeling tired and stressed out in the mornings. Your bed is the key to this rest and it can help you live a longer and fuller life.

The differentiation between comfort and health needs.

This is an important thing to remember because while something like a waterbed may be really comfortable to you, if you have certain medical conditions this may not be the right choice for your needs.

The right sized bed is also very important.

Everyone sleeps differently. Some people lay on their sides while others on their back or stomach. Some people are fine sleeping on a small bed while others need lots of space. If your bed is too small for you then you cannot get comfortable and will loose sleep at night.

Proper head and knee elevation will lead to a longer life.

Your body is not designed to lay perfectly flat and although the bed does help with this, if you are suffering from diabetes or possibly even heart disease then you also need to make sure that you have good circulation all night long.

Is your bed really clean?

Everyone sweats irregardless of temperature and as we sweat at night the bed absorbs it. After a while, the bed becomes a perfect breeding ground for mites and bacteria. When you make sure to sanitize the bed every six months or so you can ensure that the bed bugs won’t bite.

Replace the mattress before it is necessary.

Your bed is only designed to last so many years and after that it will simply fall apart. The fabric will begin to tear and the coil springs will loose their strength. You cannot prevent the degradation of the springs, but you can ensure that the mattress lasts that long by taking care of it on a regular basis

No matter how you choose to look at it, eventually your bed will fall apart and as it does your ability to have a good night’s rest will slowly degrade. Make sure that you replace the mattress long before this occurs so that you can enjoy the fruits of a great night’s sleep every night of the year.
